The Ruby Two-Shoes - "Follow it Home"
The Ruby Two-Shoes - Follow it HomeThe Ruby Two-Shoes have been known for their sweet, love-oriented sound since the mid-eighties. Their hit album "Follow It Home" put them on the map with such chart topping singles as, "Oh Please God, Please" and "Can't She Be My Baby?" If sublime lyrics and pop overtones are what you're looking for then buy this album.
Nester's Graze - "Unrequited"
Nester's Graze - UnrequitedThe music industry, and perhaps also the history of humankind itself, changed with the release of "Unrequited" by Nester's Graze. The relatively tame lyrics of their previous albums became curdled and accusational as if this album was the direct reaction of tragedy. Nonetheless, the sweet and haunting tones on this albums are bone-chilling. A must have.
The Move-Over-Summer's - "Last Leaf Fallen"
The Move Over Summers - Last Leaf FallenWhen Autumn Fall Records heard about The Move-Over-Summer's, a love affair was born. This love affair was as prolific as it was mutually reciprocal. "Last Leaf Fallen" was the fifth album released by The Move-Over-Summer's and is arguably their best work. If you're looking to curl up to this record in front of a warm fire somewhere between late September and early December, then friend, you've got the idea.
The Luke-Warms - "Portrait of Mediocrity"
The Luke-Warms - Portrait of MediocrityBorn out of the continuing frustrations and failures of the lead singer Teddy Pierce, the late-seventies love-rock trio The Red Hots changed their names to the Luke-Warms as a kind of self-degrading plea for fame. Well it worked. And how! The first full-length release, "Portrait of Mediocrity" under their new name "The Luke-Warms" proved successful far beyond the aspirations of singer/songwriter Pierce. It sold more copies than Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" combined.

When interviewed about their seemingly overnight success, Pierce was quoted as saying, "I guess with all the trash that goes on in our society, no one wants to be great anymore. I guess it's more attractive to admit that you're garbage than to pretend you're wonderful. If this is the type of industry I have to cater to, then I'll serve them my own shit and laugh at them as I'm scooping it onto the plate!"

He went on to say, "I guess what I'm saying is I feel slighted. No one wanted to know our names when we were the Red-Hots and now that we're admitting that we're upset about that by changing our names to the Luke Warms, they're all over us. I mean, come on!"

Incidentally, since this interview Pierce has been in-and-out of trouble on charges ranging all over the spectrum of strangeness.
